A: This requires some research. Googling "dedicated servers" and "shared hosting" would be a start towards finding out what companies are out there. There are so many ways that bad hosting companies can appear good, and good ones can appear bad that it is confusing.

Often a hosting company wll offer impressive things like "unlimited" monthly transfer or 3,000 email accounts when both are not possible with other limitations not stated but hidden in the fine print. 

Here are some points:

• Find out if a hosting company owns  it's own  Data  Centers and what kind of security they have
• Find out if a hosting company has 24/7/365 support and how is that support is given
• Find out what is the guaranteed uptime
• Look at the total number of customers a company has, look at that in relation to how many complaints there are.
